Walking

Walking is the simplest alternative to driving, especially for short trips. It's easy, cheap, invigorating and non-polluting. You don't have to look for a parking space or fight traffic. And no parking fees!

It’s a healthy alternative: Studies show that 30 minutes of exercise a day can help prevent heart disease, diabetes, hypertension, osteoporosis, colon cancer and depression.

Even if it is too far to walk all the way to work,

  • Walk to the bus stop.
  • Walk to the meeting point for your carpool or vanpool.
  • Walk to lunch, to the store, to meetings
